Membership

To become a member of the Society for European Lepidopterology (SEL) please fill out and send the membership form below, or download the SEL application form and return the filled-in form to our Membership Secretary:

The annual subscription shall be paid at the beginning of the year.

The current rates are (as of 2016, see SEL News 56, page 37):

Ordinary members (individuals) — 50.- €
Corporate members (associations) — 65.- €

Membership cannot become effective unless the subscription has been fully paid. New members will then receive the Membership Card.

Payments are requested to the SEL Postbank Account no. 195650507 at Postbank Köln (Bank Code 370 100 50). For transfers to that account from within the EU use the International Bank Account Number (IBAN) DE63 3701 0050 0195 6505 07, and the Bank Identifier Code (BIC) PBNKDEFF.

Residents in Germany may use direct debit for the payment of subscriptions, and are kindly requested to authorize the Treasurer by completing the appropriate section of the membership application form.

Members living outside of Europe, or having difficulties with paying their membership fee via SEPA bank transfer may use PayPal. They should check, however, that the full amount of the membership fee is paid on the PayPal account and that all expenses are paid by the payee. Please add 3 € for Paypal fees and transfer to: paypal[at]selep[dot]eu

Members without an own PayPal account should ask for a PayPal Invoice, please contact our treasurer Wolfgang Eckweiler in Frankfurt, Germany (e-mail SEL-members[at]eckweiler[dot]com). Any correspondence concerning subscription payments shall also be addressed to him.

Short version of the privacy policy of SEL Society for European Lepidopterology e. V.

The SEL Society for European Lepidopterology e. V. (short "SEL") the protection of your data is very important. Therefore, no personal data of our members - with the exception of the board and the officials of the association - are published on our website. With your membership application you have forwarded the following data to SEL: your name or the name of your organization, your title, address, date of birth, telephone number (s), area of interest, e-mail address and, if applicable, Your bank account. This information is used by us, among other things, for the following matters that are
necessary in the context of your membership:

• Sending our journal Nota Lepidopterologica to the members
• Sending our SELepidoptera News to the members
• Sending invitations to the general meeting
• Sending honors / birthday greetings
• Note on conventions / meetings / events that may interest you
• Booking of payment transactions
• Dispatch of contribution confirmations and donation certificates

We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy. Your data will not be disclosed to third parties without your express consent. With regard to the data transmitted to us, you can at any time exercise the right of opposition and revocation. You can also get information about the use of your data at any time.
